DEVELOPMENT AND UPLIFTMENT OF LGBTQ COMMUNITIES

Years ago we started to develop leadership in the LGBT community. We now have five LGBT groups and a group of sex workers who have come together to reflect on how to advance advocacy and advocacy concerns. It is time for the United Nations to become more proactive. CEDAW is one of the most powerful tools for defending women's rights. When you have strong UN mechanisms with a wide range of enforcement capacities, this can be one of the best things about LGBTI rights. The visibility of LGBTI people is  the ultimate driver of change, although in some places it can lead to job loss, loss of family support  and even life threatening. One can clearly understand why a lot of people are afraid to go out. One effective strategy is to involve parents of LGBTI people in public initiatives: this helps counter efforts to dehumanize LGBTI people. LGBTI people live in countries with constitutional rights guaranteeing equal rights, using the courts to challenge discriminatory laws and policies. It is important to note that LGBT rights are not a Western phenomenon. Many of the governments that are at the forefront of protecting LGBT rights come from developing countries. The landmark LGBT resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council, adopted in September 201, was led by governments in the South, mostly in Latin America, and supported by others around the world, including the South Africa. Even governments that normally oppose the application of human rights, like Cuba, Venezuela and Vietnam, support him. Larger changes in society have prompted some to seek greater recognition of LGBT rights, such as more equal gender relations, a general rights revolution, and greater respect for LGBT rights with individual autonomy. In this context, you see the LGBT community slowly emerging, so that people suddenly find out that they have a gay brother, son, close neighbor or colleague, which begins to define their perception of the public and underpins it. Social change, Fanaticism can easily exist in a context of ignorance, but when you are stubborn towards a close friend or neighbor you start to think, “Maybe LGBT people are really normal people; maybe I should recognize their rights. Why can't they love the person they choose like me? However, the lingering fear of 'the other' may also apply to some of the other trends we see in the outlook for this year's global agenda - such as the rise of nationalism and in recent years we have strengthened the leadership capacities of the LGBT community. People living in countries with constitutional guarantees of equal rights use the courts to challenge discriminatory laws and policies, which facilitates subsequent cases and also enables media coverage and public debate on gender. The film is also a source of inspiration for people whose focus or gender is not openly expressed.
